2016 Workshop Description

Scene Stealer: Master the Scene to Build Page Turning Plots

Instructor: Jordan Rosenfeld

The scene is the essential "DNA" of all great stories, and without it you can't tell a compelling tale. Using a well-balanced recipe of action, narrative summary, and sensory imagery, writers draw a reader deep into the heart of a story they won't be able to put down. In the morning workshop we'll learn to master the elements of scenes (both individual elements and the scene as a whole), and then how scenes build a page-turning plot.

This workshop is ideal for writers of prose, whether fiction or nonfiction. While writers at all levels of craft are welcome, those who are emerging into their writing practice will find extra encouragement and inspiration to develop your manuscripts and to craft scenes
