Duotrope.com currently lists over 4500 English-language lit mags, of which over 3500 accept fiction. Not all magazines are created equal: some will only accept work of a certain genre, some focus on writing about a particular geographic location, others lean toward a theme (ecology, health, gender), and all differ based on reading preferences of their editors.
