2010 Workshop Description

What's Interesting about Me (to more than me)?—Memoir Writing

Instructor: Kat Meads

This three-session intensive focuses on turning the raw and chaotic material of memory into dramatic, compelling narratives that can be enjoyed and appreciated by more than the author's intimates.

We'll cover basic techniques and strategies of memoir writing, including the all-important presentation of self. Each participant must share with the class, for group discussion and critique, either the first chapter of a book-length memoir or an autobiographical essay, 10 pages maximum, emailed in advance to the instructor.
