At the 2013 Paths to Publishing Session
Our three-day conference is held at the Mendocino Campus of College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg. Participants choose one faculty member to work with during three consecutive morning intensive sessions. You select one from Novel/YA, Short Fiction, Poetry, Creative Nonfiction, Explorations in Prose and Poetry or the Master Class.
Admission to the Master Class requires that you submit a writing sample and be accepted by a jury. The Master Class has a maximum of 12 students.
All other classes are open to "first come-first served" after registration opens March 15.
You are free to select from a variety of afternoon panels, seminars and publishing workshops. There are also readings by visiting authors, and a popular open mic (with stage coaching beforehand).
You will have time to browse the on-site bookstore, hosted by Gallery Bookshop, Mendocino, or perhaps find a quiet corner to work on your next draft, or mingle informally with staff and other students.
Manuscript consultations are available with the faculty member of your choice (an extra fee is charged for this).
The basic conference fee includes breakfasts, lunches, an evening reception and a closing dinner.
New for 2015 you may earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)to renew your teaching credential, by special arrangement with Dominican University (an extra fee is required).
| "The approach of this conference is so supportive. I'm a newer writer but I'm not made to feel anything but equal to those more experienced. I feel enlightened and energized -- ready to do combat with Draft #2. Thank you for providing this lovely venue and nonjudgmental environment."
