At the 2013 Paths to Publishing Session
New! Publishing Boot Camp August 7
The 27th Annual Mendocino Coast Writers Conference will be followed by an optional, all-day Publishing Boot Camp hosted at the Mendocino College/Mendocino Coastal campus in Fort Bragg, California.
Participants at the main conference select a morning intensive writing workshop where small groups work closely with the same author for 3 mornings. Choose from poetry, creative nonfiction/memoir, novel, short fiction, emerging writers, or the master class with Les Standiford.
Admission to the Master Class requires jurying in based on a manuscript submission. Enrollment is limited to 12 writers.
All other writing workshops are open to "first-come, first-served" when registration opens March 15.
Each afternoon, participants are free to attend a wide array of afternoon craft sessions, lectures, and publishing panels. Visiting author literary readings are also open to the entire community. Student open-mic and many opportunities to mingle informally are a long-standing tradition of MCWC.
You will have time to browse the on-campus "pop-up" bookstore, hosted by Gallery Bookshop, which also offers to consign participant books during the conference.
Manuscript consultations are available with the faculty member of your choice (for an extra fee).
The basic Registration Package includes breakfasts, lunches, an evening reception and a closing dinner.
New: you may earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to renew your teaching credential, by special arrangement with Dominican University (an extra fee is required.

| "The approach of this conference is so supportive. I'm a newer writer but I'm not made to feel anything but equal to those more experienced. I feel enlightened and energized -- ready to do combat with Draft #2. Thank you for providing this lovely venue and nonjudgmental environment."
