Contest Winners
RULES:
  • If you are registered for this year's conference you are eligible to enter the participant writing contest.
  • Your registration acknowledgment letter will include instructions on how to submit to the contest.
  • You may submit in one of the four contest categories; one submission per contestant.
  • Submissions are by email only.
  • Ten pages of your entry submission must be emailed on or before May 31, 2012 for it to be considered.
CATEGORIES:
  • Poetry: 3-5 poems
  • Short fiction: one short story of up to 2,500 words
  • Novel: an excerpt of up to 2,500 words
  • Creative Non-fiction: essay, article or book excerpt up to 2,500 words
PRIZES:
  • First place winner in each category will receive:
    o   $200 check
    o   Award certificate
    o   Opportunity to read from their work during the faculty reading sessions
    o   Publication in MCWC's online literary journal

  • Second and third place winners will receive:
    o   Award certificate
    o   Priority for reading at the Open Mic session
    o   Work will be considered for publication in MCWC's online literary journal
